Process Of Guilt started as a band in 2002. Their first demo was Portraits of Regret, firmly based in doom/death metal music, followed by Demising Grace, in 2003. This second demo represented a step forward in the process of creating their own sound.
After that year, live appearances started becoming more frequent, having even performing with bands such as Morgion (USA) and Mourning Beloveth (Ireland).
In 2006, their first full-length album – Renounce – was released. It was mastered by Thomas Eberger, at the Cutting Room Studios (Sweden), who worked with bands as Katatonia and Opeth.
Renounce allowed them to tour throughout Portugal, sharing stages with bands like Katatonia, The Ocean, Intronaut, Minsk, A Storm Of Light, Swallow The Sun, Napalm Death or Rotten Sound.
Erosion, their second full-length album released in 2009, represented the definite affirmation of their personality.
This year, the band released a compilation – The Circle. On this compilation you can find one remastered new perspective and five reinterpretations of Erosion's closing track.
It was brought together by Sanford Parker (of Minsk, Buried At Sea, Twilight, Circle Of Animals, The High Confessions and overall producer extraordinaire), Echoes Of Yul (the Polish creators of one of the most interesting ambient/industrial debuts in recent years), DJ Mofo (of Portuguese best kept secret Bizarra Locomotiva), Bosque (one of the leading forces of bleak drone/doom/black art) and Sons Of Bronson (featuring members of Spanish sludge masters Lords Of Bukkake).
According to the band, “The Circle offers a deconstructive circle through an erosive world of calm versus chaos”.
